I finally got my brand new, shiny Clio from the car dealer last Wednesday. I already changed the pre-fitted wheels to 15" alloys.
Im not a HiFi enhustiast, but of course I just had to fit in new MP3/CD-player, mid woofers and tweeters this weekend (because no audio was included in the deal). Removing the dashboard was a real pain! It took me and my friend somewhat five hours... but thanks to the advice given in this Board, we managed to do it. You rule, guys!!
Im not going to fit in any amps or subs, at least not yet. Mostly because I think the trunks handy for loading stuff when needed, not stuffing in audio equipment... uhm. But anyway, the tweeters sound quite loud now. The head units got MP3 but no real EQ. I think putting 6x9 in the back might result in a good chance of fading the balance from the front a bit?
Or do you think it might be too loud because I used Renaults original install audio cabling without any custom crossovers? I guess theres gotta be some kind of a crossover somewhere inside the car along the way, because only one cable per front speaker comes through to the ISO connector?
And, a few questions:
A) Is there any wiring going to the rear quarter panels - I presume the term refers to those small quadrate areas on each side of the parcel shelf?
I already saw some threads about how to get to them... but of course, if someone can give clear instructions (preferably with pictures), it would be very nice...
B) will 6x9s fit inside those rear panels, without modifications?
Thanks in advance!!
