Fitting a new bonnet....how difficult?

  Clio Mk2
Im unfortuante enough to own a Mk2 Clio with a dodgy bonnet catch that one day decided to fail.

I'm now left with a bonnet that is bent to fcuk and two bent brackets too.

I was just wondering how difficult it would be to replace the brackets and the bonnet?

Cheers,

Mark

i wouldnt tackle it yourself really

it is just 4 bolts or so, but it will all need altering and alligning properly.

knowing what to move, where to move it and how far, it aint just a case of unbolting and bolting on

plus you may have problems with the actual hinges if its bent the bodywork where they bolt down.

This happened on my old clio, except the bonnet decided to wrap itself onto my roof too!!
I was going to do it myself, but as already said, its difficult to allign and get looking right. Ended up costing me about £500, because i had a new bonnet, hinges sprayed and both wings blended in. I left the roof,as it would of been a sunroof out job to do it apparantly. Oh, and i got a new windscreen via my insurance, as a "crack", so about £70 excess. When i pulled up at autoglass, the guy couldnt stop laughing, as the biggest piece of full glass was about the size of a cd :rasp:

^What I was thinking, assuming you had it checked via the letter. As mentioned its only held on by 4 bolts, then you have to re-route the washer pipes and fit a new catch. But the hard bit is aligning, you could try trial and error.
