fitting an inlet mainfold. HELP NEEDED NOW PLEASE!

Yeh you can do it at home, but you'll need to slacken off the top engine mount (left hand side as you look at it) and jack the engine up a couple of inches to get to a bolt of the left end of the block (as you look at it)

Its not too easy, and best to support the engine with a jack (maybe a block of wood between for safety) and the sump, and totally remove the offside enngine mount. Then you can jack the engine up further and get at the bolt more easily. ill upload a pic in mo!

long and short 3/8 drive sockets pref single hex. some extensions and a swan neck spanner (can't remember what size) to get at the one c**t bolt. something to support the engine with. oh and be very careful when putting the pipe back on the end of the fuel rail. if you crush the 'o' ring it 'll leak

You need to disconnect it so when you fit the new inlet the ecu will reset to the new airflow

if you like
still a proper haynes statement tho :rasp:

also i believe one of the mount bolts goes through the lower half of the fannimold therefore it needs to come out to remove the lower section. its bloody tight behind it too so just get it outa the way

Not a difficult job when you know where the last bolt is. I'd say 2 hours for full strip down and rebuild.

Fiddly as though.
