Fitting Cobra buckets to a Clio I

I have a pair of Cobra Monacos that I want to fit in my Clio mk1.

The obvious choice would be to buy the proper Cobra subframes for the car, but these would cost about £150 a pair, almost what I paid from the seats!

The Cobra universal frames would only be £100 but even more importantly could be used on my next car in a couple of years. Big saving for a longer term investment.

1. But how easy would it be to install with universal frames?

I notice that the floor plan of my Clio means that 1 side is higher than the other.

2. Do the proper Clio frames compensate for this?

3. Can the universal frames compensate for this?

Thanks.

Don't skimp on the subframes. the reason that you need the right ones is so that the seat fits correctly to the car.

Imagine if you buy a 'universal subframe' and have an accident (awful thing to say. sorry). if your seat comes lose them it could be a BIG problem.

In my opinion if you can't get the right ones then don't bother at all. But its up to you at the end of the day.
