fitting skirts and lowering

Hi just bought a set of sport side skirts, was looking round the site to see if there was any guides on fitting them, but couldnt find any? Does anyone know if they will go on easily of if il have hassel getting them on my mk2 1.6? Also i just recently put some 16 inch alloys on and wanted to get it lowered, just looking for some opinions, i was thinking 60mm but dont know how low though thatl be. i want just above the tyres. Il get some pictures up if requested and help would be appreciated.

I'm looking into some sport side skirts too, but going to get my bodyshop to do it for me. I'd rather have a pro do it, although i'm guessing they just screw in? As for lowering, 60mm on 16" will rub - I get rub on my 15" as it is. maybe 40mm would be better.

The sport side skirts do not fit the non-sport wings so they wont fit. You can get replica ones from K-tec IIRC that look like the sport ones and will fit onto non-sports. They fit onto the sills underneath the car, a clip drilled through the sills, then the sideskirt clips on. As for a drop 60mm will be fine, scrub abit will look good. I had 40mm on mine with 16" alloys and the back sat just above the tyre but front wasnt low enough. I have some 40mm springs for a non-sport for sale.

£50 mate, there cobra springs. I have pics of the drop at home but im in work right now so can get them later if you want. Im not sure how much postage would be. They gave much better handling over the standard springs though!

I had mine down 70 mm at the Front on 17's and only had a little bit of scrubbing on full lock. I'm on 15's now though.

think im gonna go with 40's see how low they are then if i can go lower il try some 60's. Thanks for the offer mate would have bought them but i just found out the place i work for can order them in thanks anyway, and as for the side skirts, how much do you reckon you could get the replica ones for to my car?

I'd reckon if your wanting skirts etc that you just go out and do the whole RS lot as it looks alot more finished IMO.

If you do get the replicas, do not in any way get them bonded/sprayed on into the wing, sill and 3/4 panel as it's an absolute nightmare, and is going to cost me just slightly short of 1K to fix amounst other parts getting resprayed. Cracks produce and it just goes downhill from there.

yeah i was think full RS like, other than that i might just keep the standards but colour code, saw a one on the project log who had a grey and yellow with standard kit i think, that looked awesome. Might invest in the full RS though once i have more funds. Cheers though
