Five products, bare bones kit... go!

So this is similar to Ant/ Scrooge 's thread the other week, but a little more cut down.
@Cliotoby mentioned something in the other thread that made me think. I really don't need anything more than about five products these days. Being realistic here.

- Hubikote shampoo
- Tripple polish AIO
- C2V3 coating (wheels, glass, paintwork, rubbers, plastics)
- Trix Iron and tar remover (yes I'd prefer IronX and Tardis, but this will work just fine)
- RDS pre-wash/degreaser

Yes I need buckets, MFs, applicators etc but the above really does cover what I do these days. And the car has never looked better!

So what's your true bare bones kit?

-DDJ Sour pour
-Meguiars QD
-Dtechniq G6 Glass cleaner
-Autoglym Tyre shine
-diluted waxybox wheel cleaner (i forget the name!)

That about sums up my current wash, i think it comes out fairly well :)

I couldn't survive on 10 products let alone 5!

-Hubikote Shampoo (Obvs)
-RDS
-Tripple
-Trix
-Sonax.

  Not a 320d
I was being sincere when I said I wouldn't be trying anything new. Tough one this, seeing as I have to cover not just my own wash routine but also 'prepping' for other peoples cars.....

-BTBM Shampoo
-CquartzUK (Tripple if I couldnt machine polish)
-Sonax QD (wheels, paint, plastics, rubber)
-Trix
-Rain Racer

Defo not happy about being allowed 5 products though.... Missing Iron X, G1 Sonax Full effect wheel cleaner.

Can you elaborate in the short term words... Rds etc, for me ta
I couldn't survive on 10 products let alone 5!

-Hubikote Shampoo (Obvs) (The best shampoo in the world!!)
-RDS (Rapid Dirt Shifter by Demon Shine. Like Citrus from Auto Finesse but cheaper)
-Tripple (All in one Polish, cleanser glaze and protection)
-Trix (Iron X and Tar X all in one. Not as good as seperates buts as JD said 5 products it limits you)
-Sonax. (Spray sealant kind of like C2V3, can be diluted too)

My thread was better JD ;)

  Golf GT & A4 Avant
Autofinnesse Citrus power pre wash
autofinnesse lather shampoo
Carpro Trix fallout remover
AutoFinnesse Tripple polish / cleanser
carpro reload sealant

  Golf GT & A4 Avant
although its very similar to C2, I just think it feels that bit nicer and looks that bit glossier. application there is very little.

I've never tented over it, I like it, just prefer others. I wouldn't be unhappy if I only had it to use.

Assuming I don't need to machine polish-

Trix (I'd rather have iron x and tardis)
Tripple
Glasur
Z8
BTBM

or

CQUK
Reload
Wolfs nano QD
AF citrus
BTBM

  Golf GT & A4 Avant
Hang on, CS isn't tenting over C2V3 today?

Something's wrong.

C2, it's a good performer, versatile, easy to use, dilutable, pretty cheap when you compare to how much is actually used per application. No reason not to like or recommend it.

When you get geeky about it, i like reload cos it feels more special

Does it though? I couldn't give a damn if it feels better, does it look better? As if so, I'll buy some more (never tested it against C2V3 so can't compare).

It's all in the eye of the user, hence why glasur is so highly regarded I guess. it feels a bit more special to me as I like the way it feels, a little more slick when I used it. may be different over a different base, in this case it was werkstatt prime. Looks, marginally. But on my beaten up silver Golf it looked more glossy than C2 did. Yet to try them on corrected paint

But as I've said to you previously, I don't think reload lasts quite as long as C2.

Interesting. Might buy a bottle and go through it. A couple of months on the bonnet will show it up enough. Cheers. You down at the Unit any time soon pal?

I can be if there is another little mini meet going on, I have a 50ml sample bottle 2/3 full you can have to play with.

@aucky
would like to see what difference visually they make on the trophy

I've got both, want me to do a side by side comparison ?

Yes please, Jack mate. Be interested to see the colour difference on the Trophy.

Cheers pal. I'll buy a bottle as a Christmas pressie, though. Also, PM me your address. The two Sonax samples have roughly a third in each, so plenty to test.

Definitely a glossier finish @JD. I use Fat Dave as the test. Didn't comment on C2 application but commented twice on the shine of reload. It's scientific.

What shall I use as a base? Or bare paint? I'll also put Wolfs The Mask in he here to make it interesting.

  Golf GT & A4 Avant
Thanks for the offer JD but just bought sonax bsd and polymer net shield to to out.

Just hope I can out up with the non slick finish with the claimed water behaviour

aucky I used werkstatt prime, seemed to work pretty well, tough prep will lezve a similar base but without its own form of protection

I've got prime and tripple. I think I'll use prime as I've not used it in a while. It should also give a fairer test for appearance due to lack of fillers vs tripple.

Had to do this for a few people in work, I recommended the AF Tough Prep/Coat kit from PB at £33 and Hubikote.

Ordered just over £25 worth of stuff from Waxyshop and got some Slickrims wheel sealant, don't tell that guy who only got a sticker!

1 or 2 mentions of Tyre gel! My car could be a 100% corrected and still look shiat! Tyre gel is theee product! ;)

Born To Be Mild
Megs Endurance
Lime Prime or Tripple, the quick drying of tripple stills bugs me.
Trix (again 2 in one)
Reload only because it works better drying and on a damp car, dried and protected car in minutes!

Wanted to add Seal Feed to the list as it works so well and C4/DLUX don't work on rubber.

Five isn't enough by a long shot, As maintenance maybe but not as a full decon kit etc.
