Fixing marks from old bird poop

  I love Lamp
Is there a trick to getting rid of the marks where the previous owner decided not to clean off bird shet before it got at the paintwork? Or is it just stuck that way unless i get it resprayed/laquered (spelling)

Cheers smart people

Machine polish is the only thing really mate.

Could improve it by hand with a few different cutting polishes, but will probably be hard work, depending on how bad the etching is.

Birdie (ironic name for the thread...), the only way is a decent machine polish. You will be very hard pushed to remove them by hand, even if your paint is relatively soft...

Saab boy, up ye. x

Cheers, i might see what me old man can do with his machine polisher then if you think my elbow grease won't help, and yes my last name is infact Bird so it gets even more ironic, but no it wasn't my poop

Knock yourself out with spamming the thread now i have my answer anyways, i hope that is your car in your avatar too lol

very light 1500 wet and dry (if its really that deep??? i doubt it) (very wet) then G3 , G10 compounds, very very carefully then a bloody good hand polish i cant see any reason why you wont get it out that way. You just need the confidence to do it.......just be VERY careful on the paint depth obviously!!

I think he wants me to sand my paint off so he can offer to spray it for me!

I'll give it a go at the weekend with the machine anyways and see what happens, would compound help clean it up then polish over or not? And what's DA I'm guessing Detailing something, don't want to buy any more polish I have srp and egp that's enough for me :)
