fk coilovers Highsport vs Konigsport

  Static Low
im using fk highsports mate.
ive got a different car from you but its the same principles really.
i think theyre really good.
quite hard at times and the ride isnt comfy on mediocre/ bad roads. can also feel every little bump in the road but hey its worth it. pretty smooth on a good road like any car should be. aswell handling is nice and sweet too

Cheers for the feedback mate. Have you used these on track at all? I want to do a few next year.

nah mate i havent sorry. do a wee search and see what comes up but as far as i know, fk coilies are rated quite highly for the 172's but i think h&rs are the pick of the bunch

highsports are fantastic in a dynamique, but on the 172 they're far too hard for everyday driving. i went with the konigsports as they can be adjusted to a slightly softer setting for everyday driving, and can be cranked to very firm if you feel the need. i really like the konigsports, but if you've got the cash go KW V2 or H&R if your not bothered about the dampening adjust ability.

so Highsport are very harsh - wat if i set them as a 40mm drop like the apex, will they be as harsh as the apex - also are the kit reliable or have any problems

i have the highsports on my 172.

uber stiff, if i were buying again i would spend the extra and have the adjustable damping becuase on some roads its crap! far too crashy, not much travel,

on a nice smooth road they are great. country roads are a nightmare. go on a road with a poor road surface and you defo know about it. mine has bought about so many creaks n rattles too which is annoying.

was going to ask the same questions. so it seems then that the konigsport are the ones to go for if your car is an everyday driver then.

Hmmm, that would suggest that Highsports would be pants on the 'ring, which is essentially the only track i drive on at the mo .... that, combined with the fact i do 30k a year, may suggest i need to spend the extra

Ive been looking at coilovers for a while now, is it worth spending the extra money to get the h&r's or are they really only for track day heros?

Ive had Highsports on both my old Corsa and Lupo GTi and rate them highly, people who say they are too hard need to man up a bit! :rasp: I find that the lower you go with them the harder they get which is perfect.

Don't forget AST's, good deal on the group buy as well.
