White multiplug in engine bay fuse box waterlogged or corroded?Where are you located?Morning, in the bad rain on Friday , i was driving to work.. it was pouring.. my Clio engine management light came on "flashing" orange and has gone in to limp mode..... any suggestions?
If you cannot sort it yourself.Mick Pittman at Diamond Motors in Long Eaton will sort it in his sleep.in Kettering northamptonshire
That`s par for the course. If you get the code read,it will probably be throttle pedal circuit. This means the wiring needs sorting out,NOT replacing pedal or throttle body. Thanks, it cleared itself then came back .. very strange ...
Mine is going in today for exactly the same thing mate. Once the mrs car is done he is dealing with mine. Mine too said misfire but wasn't multiple. He said it could possibly be a coil pack but could be many other things. Hopefully both of ours will be an easy fix and not hitting the wallet hard.just went down to my local bodget and scarper place and they put it on a code reader.. multiple cylinder misfire....
Reckons its a coil pack...
Is it misfiring, you only said it was in limp mode before? No mention of a misfire.Classic case of throwing parts at it.Odds on its a wiring fault as it`s a multiple misfire.update .. coil pack on still miss firing..... back for some plugs and leads...
I'm having a misfire issue sorted today/tomorrow too. Would it be best to ask the mechanic to change leads and plugs first, as they are the cheaper parts? Then coil pack if the problem is still there? Sorry to jump in but I cannot find my thread. Is it misfiring, you only said it was in limp mode before? No mention of a misfire.Classic case of throwing parts at it.Odds on its a wiring fault as it`s a multiple misfire.
How on earth did we ever diagnose faults before code readers?Coil pack, leads or plugs is a good guess for single misfire, but I would have confirmed it by pulling one lead at a time before spending any money on parts.
Where can I meet Miss Fire?
No,let him diagnose the fault, that`s what he`s paid to do.You have to remove the top inlet manifold to change the plugs ,so he would probably tuck you up for that anyway.I'm having a misfire issue sorted today/tomorrow too. He plugged the diagnostics in this morning and it said misfire. I asked if it was likely to be an injector or spark plug and he said it could be many things. It didn't come up as multiple misfires, just 'prolonged' i think. The light only came on and there was only a problem on sat. If he throws parts at it and it`s not fixed,as in incorrectly diagnosed, refuse to pay for them.
Where in Wales are you based?
I`m not trying to be negative, but you have now spent more than I was charged to sort my limp mode problem, trying to fix a misfire that only exist on a code reader!not miss firing its just in limp mode... sorry to be so vague...
Got plugs and leads so will try these...
Thanks for your input SteveM.. just like to add though I am not a mechanic.. hence coming on here to ask for advice...
I used to be in the Mini owners club, and to be honest I love my cars character, let it spit its dummy out from time to time... isn't that why we have them...
Constructive comments always appreciated..

AS I said, let him diagnose it.If he`s any good,he`ll get it right 1st time.I think injectors are quite cheap if it`s that.Good luck.He plugged the diagnostics in this morning and it said misfire. Will do! Thanks very much for your help!AS I said, let him diagnose it.If he`s any good,he`ll get it right 1st time.I think injectors are quite cheap if it`s that.Good luck.
No problem. If he does change the plugs, get him to do a compression check, both dry and wet(chuck a squirt of oil down the bores). Will do! Thanks very much for your help!
Fingers crossed then,or maybe a happy coincidence.Mine was an intermitant fault that gradually got worse.new plugs and leads sorted the problem..
