Has it had a brand new 'virgin' UCH fitted by Renault and setup on a Clip or is it a second hand, decoded unit thats been fitted by a backstreet garage?

So they've had a look and can't see any history that's triggered the "SERV" lamp at all?

They seemed pretty clueless, they were like to me "how long has it been flashing like that" i said it hadn't before I gave it to you, so you sort it out. He said he the oil was a bit low so he stuck another litre in thinking it would clear the light but it didnt. He also disconnected the battery overnight and reconnected yesterday morning but that didnt clear it

They do indeed sound like complete fucktards - Take it to someone that knows what they're on with as the amber "SERV" light will not flash on its own (Or ever for that matter) due to a slightly low oil level. Interogation of the UCH and other modules should fairly easy for a garage with the right kit and know-how.

Cheers Mick, will take it a garage that can actually give me an answer. The car at least starts and runs now which is the main thing but this additional 'minor' problem is still a pain in the ar$e lol
