flat spot

It would seem that my 182 has deeloped a slight flat spot between 5000rpm and 6000rpm.
It just doesnt seem to pull as hard as it should or like it used to. Could this be a misfire??
The emissions light is on as well could this be linked to it?? Its starting to bug me now and a trip to renault garage for some ned to sit and rev the nuts off it looking for the problem dont fill me with confidence!!
Any ideas guys????

Get it into renault if your worried. My emmision light has been on for about 6months. Doesn't mean anything.

the emmission light is on because your cat is being damaged...misfire or temp sensor seams to be common on them.
whats the mileage you are on?

I would have said spark plugs or coolant temp sensor if you didn't have the emissions light on . But i'd still go with the lambda sensor .

If its the coolant temp sensor you temp guage will start to dance about , one min thinking the engines warm the next thinking its cold so over fuelling .

I had hestitation on accelerating with my old 172 ,up toabout 3000 revs , turned out the spark plugs needed changing at only 30k , but again no emissions light for me .

no its fine under load at 30mph... its a bit lumpy when its cold but i think there all like that.. looks like im heading back to renault again!!!!!!...................
