flat spot

are all 172/182s got a flat spot at 3000-3500revs or is it just mine

it not spectacular below 3k but 3 and above no probs at all. certainly no flat spots.

no flat spots here,just nice power delivery does seems a bit lumpy on tickover somtimes.anybody elses like this.

I get a flat spot from about 2,000 to 3,000rpm when the engine is cold. Funny thing is that it only seems to happen in the afternoon, when Im leaving work. Doesnt happen any other time!

I wonder if its because I run an open induction kit and its surrounded by latent hot air after a day out in the car park?

i think all 172/182"s are abit lumpy on tickover.

Mines crap and thats not a sport one, it some times cuts out its that bad.

No flat spots on mine. Pulls ok from low revs and great from 4.5-5K! Occasionally, a bit lumpy up to 2K revs only for the first 300 meters or so first thing on a v. cold morning but I can live with that!

What you need is a re-map thatll sort out your flat spots and lean fueling etc

my 1.2 is crap wen its mild, it keep sorta spluttering a bit, maybe I dont get enough revs on, having bugger all torque!!

Lumpy tickover - Yes, mines always done it...always. If the engine is warm then it will burble like a sl*g at the lights. Period. Seems better with Optimax over other high octane fuels. Ive not yet had the chance to try Tescos new 99RON though.

Cold hesitation - Yep. Same again. Mine does it sometimes when the engines stone cold. It doesnt have to have been a cold night - in the recent warm spell its still done it in the morning (actually its been worse in the mild weather). Enough for the GF to notice when she wasnt even driving, put it that way.

Flatspots - No not really. Beyond knowing that its just a mildly well tuned NA (naturally aspirated, kids) 2.0 16v and not expecting big capacity levels of grunt, it feels fine. Comes to life over 4000rpm...starts to pull hard from 5250 up to around 6750-7250. Try turning off the ESP, as it may well be having its own ideas about power delivery, especially exiting bends. This is open to debate though.
