Flat windscreen wiper on a curved rear Clio windscreen = really annoying

Just put a standard replcement 16" Bosch wiper on the back of my Clio mk1 hoping it would solve the problem but its just as bad as before. The bottom half of the blade cleans great, the top half doesn't even touch the glass ffs.

Am I the only 1 with this problem and has anyone found a way round it?

Not had to change it yet on the 172 but had exactly the same problems with the Bosch wiper on my 218.

It's truly infuriating. The wiper stays completely flat, so by the time its vertical, the top to the middle is a good few mm from the glass! It doesn't even sit flat when horizontal. Trying to bend things just makes things worse.

Someone out there must have had some success with an alternative?

Clean the spring that holds the blade against the windscreen, lube it with WD40 and work it back and forth 10-20 times. Should only have todo that say 3 or 4 times and it'll stay on the screen better.

Bosch Aerotwin a531s could solve the problem. Ordered mine today, i'll wait and see...

Can only think of getting a smaller blade (meganes look smaller? could be wrong) seeing if that works? although it would cut down the wipeable area?

I wasn't meaning to sound sensetive about it. I've got £2.99 wipers on my front, from Tesco no less! Just questioning whether you've tried it on a mk1, as your profile says you're driving a Dymon, which will have a different shaped rear screen. Don't fancy driving 14 miles there and back for a wiper that only works on another model.
