Flooded :(

Walked up to my clio sport today after the last few days of rain excited to use the car and i find a puddle in the driver's footrest area, this has strangely happened and what makes it even harder to find out what had happened, the windows were completely closed, nothing else in the car was wet or damp, just the area for the feet, can any one let me know if this has happened to them, or heard anything happen?? thanx:approve:

my clio leaks horrendously through the sunroof, and my interior is stripped, so no carpet to soak it up, the heavy rain we had a couple of days ago left me with an inch of standing water in both foot wells, took the sunroof and ariel out and resealed the lot, been ok since i think, so check those first and the door seals too, could be a tear perhaps?

i forgot to mention i dont have a sun roof in the CS but my dad did mention something about the seals but its strange how its just happened on the drivers side and not in the passengers side

172 don't have sunroof's. plus it's the phs2 172 so the arial is at the back, check the rubber door seals, run your finger round the inside of it to look for water, if it isn't that then check the door itself, might have a hole in the door. Also just check underneath the dash as theres always rubber gromits underneath/behind the dash, maybe one of those has moved.
If all that fails, there might be a possible hole in the footwell as there are bolts/screws that go through the body, have a quick look underneath the car where the footwell is.

maybe the drivers side door seal then have a good look over it for rips or splits yours is the phase 2 so the ariel will be mounted on the rear? so shouldnt be that, failing that, sit in the car with doors shut and windows up and get someone to run a hose over the car in any suspect areas while you feel around for water dripping in

I've seen a couple of people with this problem on here ages ago . You could try searching for it .

hmm thanx guys, its worried me because just yesterday i ordered my music system and dont want it to get spoilt coz of the rain il check the door seals etc tomorrow and see how it goes, thanks guys :approve:

thanks MrBillyUK, i will check the seals etc tomorrow and i will also try to take the car to the local renault dealership and see what they say, what a shame for something so horrible to happen to such a nice car

My mum's Focus had a leak that every time it rained the footwell filled up on the passenger side.
In the end she just traded it in and got a SportKa so my post is actually pretty pointless!!
