Flooring it from cold!

Contrary to what has been posted on here a few times recently, oil pressure is higher when it's cold. That doesn't mean the oil is lubricating as properly as it will when hot, but the issue with cold starting isn't oil pressure.

I don't batter my car when cold, but I don't drive it like it's going to break if I press the pedal. Oil temp gauge FTW. My water temp is at halfway, long before the oil temp is up.

When you start the car when it's cold, drive it gently until it's up to temp. The oil need to warm to flow properly, one of the reasons we often recommend an oil that's thin when cold. It's also better to drive it gently to warm it, rather than just leave it ticking over on the drive.

Maybe someone should go sell thin oil at a "cruize" - It improves car performance in a 1.0l so you can boot it from cold. - Oh Wait. They dont care as the car is their mums.

I think that could earn a fortune at a cruize, sell thin oil and all the neds will want it like its a STD.

Thinner oil is definately a performance increase compared to a massive spoiler on a 1L car.

We tried the cruize seen once, generally unless it is shiny, or glows and they can show it to their mates they are not interested.

Just whack a sticker on the side skirts, to go alongside the adverts for products they DONT have on their cart.
