Hi everyone,Florence is my project, she's a 1.2 8 valve with an iffy head gasket. Tring to get the rocker cover off, all eight bolts from the sides removed, top mount removed but still the rocker cover refuses to shift. Any ideas?

Have you persuaded it with a mallet?

I didn't want to give it too much persuasion as it's an alloy cover.

Just get a rubber mallet and tap it. There may be old silicone holding it together.

Also at least it’s alloy and not plastic.

Here’s a removed one. Check you’ve got all the bolts out and give it a pry.

Looks like there are three sneaky ones at the camshaft pulley end

Thanks Matt you got me out of a world of pain there, the one in the middle of the cam pulley end was buried under a load of debris. Rocker cover off and the top end is full of disgusting sludge!!

What in the wide wide world of sport is going on with those back to front torx head bolts, not a tool that I own

I think they are spline sockets

Hi guys, head off, thank fork, camshaft is a pitted on one lobe and the follower matches it. So I'm looking for recommendations for another camshaft, maybe give Florence a bit extra vavavoom at the same time. Go for it!!
