Normally you have to install them the right way round as the reactions have to happen in the right order chemically. A lot of them arent symmetrical so they cant be installed wrong.
Performance wise i dont think it makes a difference but emissions wise it will.
the thing is I've got a 182 mani and a 172 exhaust, so need to make tha cat fit. thats why I'm wondering if it makes any difference which way i put it back on
