fly wheel

  20VT Clio & 9-5 HOT

wouldnt bother TBH. When I had the engine rebuilt, the valver flywheel was fairly light as it was. their aint a lot more that can be taken off!

as for buying another flywheel....hmm not sure about that, im sure u can from somewhere!

good question, would be the same for any car though in principle. its called transmission loss, but i dont know anything about it...

ok just done some reading up on it (sh*t im bored) and it seems the box oil used can be a very slight factor. too frictionless an oil and the time taken for the gears to spin up to the right speed to allow change is increased. also something about "shear rates"? however, it is also meantioned that this may not have any noticeable difference on trans. loss. A straight cut box will reduce it, but is very expensive and often not cost-power effective.

You can remove alot of weight from the outer rim of the fly wheel (rear of wheel)... The outer weight will always be the most heavy when rotating... But be carefull as the starter ring is heated on the fly wheel (leave some material, so heat soaks up better)

Can post pics later (std. fly vs. lightened fly)
