My flywheel is OEM had done about 80k road miles. (not a clio).
I then doubled the horsepower with a turbo & threw a paddle clutch on there + matching pressure plate.
The clutch was used, so it wasn't massively happy at the new power level & it's a 4 paddle so a bit heavy on the knees. I've bought a brand new one.
My mate has said I should get my flywheel machined so that it 'bites' the new clutch disc.
He showed me one of his competition flywheels and they had a rough/abrasive but not aggressive feel to the metal surface.
I'm going to the machine shop to get some other bits done - but not totally sure what I'd be asking them to do here. And if it is normal to do so.
