Just take your original to an engineering firm to be lightened. Debatable wether it's worth it or not though.

No not running yet still looking for the correct gearbox. Run a lightend flywheel on my nova xe well worth it.

Been told any jb3 box with elec speedo will fit but want the same gearing. Someone has already changed my box the gearing is all wrong for my car compared to the rsi i drove the other week. Spoils the way the car drives.

a jb1 will fit as will a jc5.

how much in terms of weight/matieral was taken off it???

i've got a spare with an engineer mate at the moment,, but he needs a clutch before he can do it to see how far he can go,, theres not alot there to be taken off by the looks of it

yeah standard one lightened. they took all the material off the back lost about 1kg. will weigh it before i fit it.

it was on the car when i bought it, but i know its been done. he had my almera one done aswell when he did a gearbox change for me, just take it down the local engineer shop and said, take as much off as poss! lol

just dont want to go too far with them,, he used to slot flywheels on pintos etc and one of them shattered,, blew the bell housing to bits and buryed itself in the tunnel

Mines been done and noticed no difference although other mods were done at the same time

How much is recomended?

Am I right in thinking they balance it with the clutch cover too?

Doing my clutch soon so will get the flywheel done while its out if its worth it.

do not get slots cut into it!i bought a 182 with a lightened flywheel drove it for a week and it collapsed wher 1of the slots were, it took my tdc sensor with it lol

Was this a "home made" made flywheel? Im thinking about fitting K-tec lightened flywheel when Quaife LSD will be fitted. Having some second thoughts though..
