Ford Capri 3.0S X Pack

Car  An orange one
This is Dads toy, its a 1981 X plate, 3.0S capri, with original dealer fitted X pack RS parts, including;

Big valve heads, Triple 42DCNF carbs, electric fuel pump, anti dive kit, Granada front brakes, Limited slip diff, All round Bilstein shockers.

Wheels were 7.5x13 deep dish RS 4 spokes, but tyres in these sizes are almost impossible to find now, so its on 7.5x15 RS alloys which IMO look much better, was under wheeled before..

Genuine 21500 miles from new, 3 owner car and NO rust at all. :approve:

I know theres a few Ford nuts on here so this might appeal!

Jobs for this year are to fit a 3.1 engine with Powermax pistons, hi-torque cam, and stage 3 heads, T5 Cossie 5 speed box and a Torsen rear diff instead of ZF item as the ZF is noisy around town.

Holy f**k that's nice. Capris are looking better every time I look at them.

My old man would seriously like that. If I had a pound for every time he mentioned his 3.0 JPS..lol

I want that. Il swap for My mini and my 182 haha!

Hoping to find myself a decent capri project this year..

Yep loving that - love that interior!

As already said Capri's seem to get better with age!

Not the biggest Ford fan but does look very clean.

Are they Escort (late 80's) rear lights? I assume Granada brakes are better lol?

I think I have found my new favourite car on Cliosport - amazing car and condition!

The old man had a red Capri 3ltr thing.
Had a black vinyl roof and everything
I used to slide off the roof, down the windscreen and bonnet all day in the summer, thinking it was proper dukes of hazard.

I was, what, 3 at the time.

Love them, much

Properly love that!
What would it be worth roughly just out of interest?

I've seen rare Capri's in mint or fully restored condition go for nearly £20k,
i'd say that one was worth between £12-£15k easy.

That is awesome Colin, how long has he had it as you have never mentioned it before.

Hes had it a couple of years at least mossy.. He had a 3.1 oselli engined Capri before it, Also a Triumph TR6 in the garage which I really do like!

Hi Joe
Colin's dad here! I think £12K to £15K would be a steal, I would not let this go for less than £19K and even then you would have to tie me up and have Kelly Brook ravage me many times and ............. even then I would say no (to sell that is) !!!!
Alan

I was trying to be conservative, but yours is like showroom so £20k is a healthy price,
although there would be no point in selling because you wouldn't find a better Capri,
unless a mint MK1 3.0 GT came up for sale.

Holy moly! What a car! I love that.

And they say there's no money in farming....

It is lovely pal, full respect for your dad having such epic motors.

Oh the poor farmers ...lol

What a lovely car,my dad had a 2.0 special with the slat blinds on the back and the black vinyl roof.He then went on to an orange 3.0.S like yours with the little black lines along the doors fading out to nothing. For the time there wasnt a lot quicker on the road.I cant remember what he had after that.

Haha, can understand that!
My dad had the first 3.0 Capri in Derby when they were released, but I'm a bit too young to have ever seen it.

Hey Colin this is your Dad here, thank God you didn't take a happy snap of my Y's on the clothes line yesterday or that might have ended up on here too!! BTW I meant to say Kelly Brock before...most pleasing to the eye!
