Formatting my computer - any tips?

I’m in the process of copying documents to CD as back up and will be formatting my laptop afterwards. When I’ve done this before I just put the windows CD in and followed the steps. I want to keep the laptop slim and running quick in future – any tips or advice?Thanks

make sure you have a good AV on there. I am using CA E trust anti virus. Its free! Search on google for it.
Also make sure you back everything up mate. Email accounts, net connections etc...

what windows is it xp if so

run the cd , when it gets to select partition , delete the partition create a new one make it loose 1mb , then thatll make all existing data / virus`s go for good, then format it and install

dont forget your internet favs too. i forgot that last week when i did it..

I'm gona put the whole Firefox folder on CD and copy it back over as I have much useful bookmarks in there

hope you backed up the firefox folder from application data, otherwise you're gonna get a if you just copy the folder from program files :¬)
