Forza 2 - Tuning

So after building a RWD supercharged civic that couldn't go in a straight line for s**t. It was awesome though.

Anyway, how do you go about tuning cars, working out where the suspension, camber etc should be for the optimum car performance? As i've build a few monsters, namley my DC5 and U999 Evo i now want to get the best from them, but have no idea where to start.

Any help?

U class cars are 9 times out of ten a pile of toss no matter what settings you adjust. First you need to understand what a car is capable of and add parts to suit. I'm betting that civic of yours was running about 500bhp and liked to step sideways as soon as vtec kicked in?

Yeah turkish. But it made my willy feel big tbh.

I did try searching on here but nothing came up.

How do you decide if it's a good idea supercharging your car or adding this and that, while keeping it drivable, or just test and see?

That tuning calculator looks good. Thanks

Common sense ;) If you have a FWD 200bhp or less civic turning it into a 500 + RWD one will only end in tears. I've got a mugen DC5 with just over 320 bhp, still FWD and a load of weight reduction/suspension mods and it will pass an F430 Scuderia. There is a certain amount of trial and error but generally more than doubling a cars initial BHP will not work well.

Okay, ta. Yeah my DC5 is sensible, fully stripped light wheels, NA, etc. Runs awesome.

Maybe i'll de-tune my evo.

I very rarely do any tuning down to the level of camber adjustments tbh. I have a 5 turbo A850 that is very fast apart from top end as it is 'only' 310bhp or so...if you had the same car at A850 but was just engine mods it wouldn't stand a chance as by the time you have got traction I would have carried much more speed through the bend and pulled harder out of the bend.....asy way I do it is strip it fully, slicks and suspension mods/down force etc then do engine work until you reach your target rating (unless as Si said it is going for silly power)

Exactly as Chris says, no point in going for big power if traction is an issue and it doesn't corner.

I have an Elise A850 running fairly low power compared to most other things in the class, but it by far my favourite car to drive on the game. On a twisty course such as Maple Vally it is immense, have to really push it on the faster tracks though.

nail on head, lol. If you've got a super/hyper car that's normally running several hundred and tune it it's a far cry from taking a warm/hot hatch and expecting it to be driveable when you add 500bhp more than it started.

I have the trump U class.....max out a GT40 (original). Mine weighs about 750kgs and has 900+bhp. On the last straight on Sebring it will easy hit 240mph but the main good thing is it is so light it is amazing on the brakes so can actually do daft speeds and still make the bends. It is a handful but I like to try and control over the top rwds

I need to got playing more. To get these decent cars. :dapprove: I've had a bit of a de-tune. Will see how it goes. But tbh, my DC5 is 400 odd brake and drives well. Real good handling etc.

Thursday night. 10pm.

Get everything done before then. If you need to eat, do it before. If you need to phone your boyfriend, do it before. If your name is Turner, do everything by 8, promise you'll be on at 9, then come on with the rest of us at 10pm.
