and what is the crackle map??
and what is the crackle map??
lol i was more interested in the 3rd map?Only you can decide if it is worth it to spend hundreds of pounds to make your car make annoying popping sounds that damage the exhaust or not, personally I wouldnt pay a penny for that, but im not some young chav where as you might be in which case to you its probably good value?
Ah, sorry mate, I assumed you meant the crackle map from the link title, didnt realise it had normal maps on that page too.
So you mean the map for "Full system with decat and KTR induction kit (3)"
If so, I would expect it to work well enough, but I doubt it will significantly outperform the 98RON RS Tuner map which is far cheaper.
Either buy a secondhand one on here, or a new one from the fastchip.nl website.
and does it come with all the stuff i need to upload it to my car myself?
dnt mean to be a pain, could you please send me a couple of links as the site has lots to choose from!Yes mate.
You buy the hardware, then you buy the map, then you upload the map, and either keep the hardware (its VERY useful for diagnostics) or sell the hardware.
so would that map be the right 1 for me with full exhaust system and decat and filter??, im confused:-(This is the hardware:

If you buy a secondhand one you need an unlock license:
http://www.fastchip.nl/index.php?pa...ategory_id=33&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=26
(the one you want is the cheaper one, the sirius)
Then you need the actual map to load, available here:

it says that the stage 1 map is included in the kit? is the map that you quoted the same thing or is that the next 1 up?Yes thats a map that works well with a decat and filter, the one you linked to is just the same thing but with added pops and bangs when you back off at high rpm to win you chav points at the local drivethru carpark late at night etc.
If you put something meaningful in your location, you might find someone useful who already has an RS Tuner offers to help you with doing it for you (either out of the goodness of their heart or for a small fee)

thank you, i nearly wasted so much money with ktek!If you buy a secondhand one, you will need to buy the correct map for your car. Sorry if I wasnt clear enough, if you buy a new one you dont need to buy anything else, just the kit.

Nail. Head.
Read. Thread?
yeah i do, how do mappers usually set ignition when they have the car infront of them on the road or rolling road etc?
Not to steal the thread, but I wonder, would taking my 172 RS clio to a local dyno tuner would be better then RS tuner? Or is that somehow problematic?
They will probably be unable to map it well, the definition files for the ecu aren't public and few tuners have even attempted to decode them let alone had much success.
Well that is a big let down then. I was hoping after so many years there would be something out there that would be easy to use for tuners. However, as I see now, RS tuner is my best bet then.
Nah the 172 ecu is pretty quirky and not something most tuners have any real interest in TBH mate as its not really widely used, so its not worth the time to invest in most cases.
