Fraying aux belt

On my 3rd aux belt in 4 months. It keeps fraying. But only about a 1cm long and in 2 places on Outer edge.
Any body else had this trouble?
It's stressing me out.
A lot of people say if it snaps. Causes cam failure.
Well that brilliant. Stupid French build a brilliant strong engine. But can't put a bottom cam belt cover on for protection against cam failure lol

They shouldn't do that.

My aux belt is currently very badly frayed, but that's because the pre tensioner failed.

Rentech put a belt and kit on. Then changed it again on warranty. But can't find what's doing it. And there the best mechanics so I doubt any 1 else will be able to find the fault. Fml

Checked what condition the crank aux pulley is in?

Mine started fraying and came off at nearly 8000rpm lol, got very lucky that it didn't take the engine out.

Turned out it looked like something had hit my aux crank pulley and dented it.

Out of line PAS flange can cause that.

I have to drive about 100meters of gravel everyday to get to work. I was thinking a little stone could have caused it. But what's the odds of that happening 3 times in a row

Check the crank pulley. Mines wobbling like mad and is getting swapped tomorrow.

Got car back. With a new PAS pulley and belt kit. Fingers crossed
