Free Camera recording software?

Has any got any recommendations for free video recording software? I want to setup a camera to record my lab's movements in the house whilst I'm out? Cheers.

Most webcams come with motion-activated capture software now, particularly when you go to Logitech and the likes (as long as you don't go for the IM-designed cams - they don't have much bundled software).

we've got loads of Logitech Communicate STX's in work, I'll take a look.
