Less spam, better interface, better email organisation.

Splits them into categories, Primary, Social, Promotions and you can add more tabs such as forums.

Has a nice way of grouping conversations together

I'm a bit late, but I use Gmail for my own domain emails too.

It's fast, secure, and effectively you get an exchange for free (up to 15GB) or ~£3pm.

If you want something unique then you could go for a webmail hosting package and have your own domain specifically for your e-mails.. Depends how fussed you are.
