Free video converter

[Spiezels]

Hiya!

I've downloaded some films that i want to put on my ipod (got a long journey coming up).

They're all avi files so ideally need to convert them to .mov so i can import them to itunes.

Anyone know of decent free software that will let me convert film sized files?

Either Handbrake to convert them or instal the VLC player on the ipod (assuming it is the touch) and then drag the unconverted files into the app using iTunes.

Yeah it's a touch, is the VLC app free?

Yep, VLC is free. Quite a handy little app if you dont have time to re encode a vid to put on with iTunes.

Aye i noticed my mate has it on his 4 but my ipod's only 8GB and full of music so i dont have too many apps, as i've got time today before i travel tomorrow i'll use handbrake for now, nice one.
