Freesat - Any good?

Seen a fair few adverts on TV advertising Freesat.

Is it any good?

We've got Sky+ HD downstairs in the lounge, but was thinking more for my bedroom. My TV in my bedroom already has digital, so is it worth the extra money to get Freesat?

Pros,Cons etc?

Freesat is essentially Sky but with less channels. You'll need someone to come in and rig in a new cable.

If you can get decent freeview, stick with that, or go multi-room with sky

I have it. Its alright if you don't want to pay for Sky and want a couple of HD channels thrown in. If you already have Freeview then its pretty pointless unless you specifically want iplayer (which doesn't work half the time anyway).

It has it's uses, free HD channels, good for people who don't want to pay for their TV but can't get freeview (although you can do something like this with Sky can't you?).

One of our Pannys has Freesat and Freeview built it. Freesats ok, don't find the channel choice as good as freeview but it's still ok!

Same here, although their are more channels on freesat though, you get 'plus ones' for most of them and there's a loads of other free s**t channels you get too.

Ok they aren't good, but there are more of them

Still use the freeview tuner most of the time though, habit and used to the channel numbers.

Yeah mine too has freeview hd as well, tbh use sky most of the time but the freesat does come in handy for the iplayer.

I ran a feed from my sky dish to my tv peice of piss really.
