I have always wanted to get my paintwork back to what it looked like when it was new, but I have a problem with that. I live in an old mill conversion and the car park is the ground floor of the mill, there is no water supply and no power supply so I always take it to get washed at the local car wash.
Anyway today I thought f**k it, I took it to the local car wash to get it washed and then nipped to Halfrauds and picked up a Meguires clay kit.

Clayed the car using the quick detailer as the lubricant and gave it a full wipe down with a microfiber and then gave it a going over with the cleaner wax.

For a first attempt I am pleased with the results, just need to do the widows and get myself some of that Auto Finesse Rejuvenate for the trim

lol knowing my luck it would pop off the tap and by the time I had run up the stairs the apartment underneath mine would have a nice damp spot on the plasterboard ceiling

Haha, i'll bring it to a meet one of these days Jon. Its only ever been to 3 or 4 tbh. Yes they are 172 wheels with 20mm hubcentrics

In your situation mate you couldn't go far wrong than use ONR, as long as there's space to put a bucket on the floor you'll be able to use that stuff.

It's called optimum no rinse and it's just the thing for people where space is at a premium or where they don't have access to any hose. I've got some for when the hosepipe bans kick in so I can still keep mine clean, because pretty much every time we get good weather you can guarantee a hose-pipe ban is just around the corner.

Check the below, a thread off DW with pretty much everything you could possibly need to know. What's good about this stuff is that it's not expensive and it comes in monster sizes (5 litres) if you're going to be using it often.

You're welcome mate, those 'car washes' on shop/garage forecourts are brutal n the paintwork, may as well be washing it with a hand full of pebbles. Definitely would suggest trying that stuff, in your situation it's what I'd be using!

I'm not daft enough to use garage forecourts, those brushes get abused. No way one of those is going over my car. I used a local place that use proper wash mitts etc, but I would still rather do it myself.

For real, is it similar to a car-wash place but a little more 'specialist'? We've got somewhere like that near me, from what I've seen they do an okay job, but I wouldn't take mine there personally.

Oh btw on DW it recommends a Zymol sponge, you don't need to pay for something like that if you don't want to. I use B&Q tile sponges and still get those kind of results.

I don't know them so stay clear. They are likely to be rebranded, but I would pay the extra pennies to have a name I know, like Bilt Hamber, Meguiars, etc.

This stuff is awesome, did end up buying the regular one by mistake the first time though and it is literally rock solid. Have to pop it in a plastic bag and stand it in a jug of off the boil hot water to soften it enough to stretch and fold it.
