Front and Back bumper

Car  172 cup
I have a Ph2 Mk1 and so have plastic bumpers, I hate them and they keep fading.

Can I fit a Mk2 front and back bumper onto my car?? If so How much would I probably pay for a pair and is it easy to do?

Don't you mean that you have a Mk2 with Ph1 bumpers but want to put Mk2 Ph2 bumpers on it?

for the front you will need wings, bumper and archliners. much cheaper to get your bumpers colourcoded

you mean the strip, or the entire bumper?
if its just the strip, colour code them urself,
thats wt im doing as we speak ;)

if you want the hole bumper resprayed probly looking at about £200 - £250 ish depending on where you go for both bumpers, but thats cheaper then buying the wings, bumpers, archliners, bonnet and headlights and gettin them sprayed lol.

y not just go to a scrappy and try and find a ph1 front bumper and rear bumper in the right colour??

probably cost you just as much, but you can then sell your ones

Surely Id just take off the ones on my own car and spray them, I dont want plastic ones. I look after mine and their still faded so ones in a scrapyard arent going to be much better

Jees not cheap then.

Would it be feasible to do myself?

Your cars pearl black right?

Best/Cheapest bet is to look for a crashed pearl black 172 on the bay/here and have the back bumper off it (persuming its had front end damage!).

Then you dont need to feck around spraying it.

As for doing it yourself... You can do it yourself but wouldn't advise it as unless your used to using rattle cans to spray stuff (I.e middo/FM) it will end up looking w**k if you ask me so no i wouldn't do it yourself lol.

I dont think it is Luke no - I sprayed the strips pearl black and they seemed to look ever so slightly different, you cant tell too much but at a guess you would be able to tell on something bigger like the bumper. Would a 172 rear bumper go straight onto the back of mine?

pretty strieght foward to do it yourself really, and will save alot of time and effort! just remember only to spray the non-painted bits lol, will need to do some rubbing down if you want them smooth like the bumper as the bump strips are textures (orange peel type) bit of primer, bit of paint, bobs your uncle

A decent job is around the £250 mark, unless you know people who know people.

I paid just shy of £500 for a full front-end spray to remove the stonechips. Spot on job, too. That was bumper, wings and bonnet.

If im honest I think Ill leave it, more trouble than its worth when Im wanting to get rid of it in a few months.

im doing this atm,
rather then rubbing the bumper down

id advise (well i was adviesd) using high build primer, build the textured bumper up,

and then sand it down, its given a really nice finnish so far,
just need to get the paint on it now lol,

can post some pics up if you ill, it will be on the projects section before the end of the week though

i got 2wings, 2bumpers, 2 side skirts, 2 side bump strips and a wing mirow cover sprayed for 300 quid u just gota shop about
