I got pagids on standard discs.

They are a great compliment to s/s braided hoses.

I keep the pads on all the time now cos I have black wheels and you can't see the carbon eating away at the alloy. lol

  Chocolate Bar™
do they still do the ds2000's or were they superseded by the revised ds2500?

if its purely a track car and you dont care about your alloys then pf97 or carbon lorraines would be a good bet.

Glad you said that as I am just gonna bung a set of standard discs on - why waste an expensive set and my braided lines arrived this morning.

Not really bothered about the wheels if I am honest.

Can someone post some links etc??? (DS2500 is what I meant lol)

DS2500's are fine for most people, if you're EXTREMELY heavy on the brakes and you DON'T use the gears to slow you down then go for Pagid Blues or PF97's (same as the cup racers) some people bong on about Carbone Lorraine but i rate them lower than the DS2500

DS2500 worked a treat on track for me along with the Brembo Max Discs and Braided lines.

Pagid Blues are very good

I have heard the Carbon Lorraine pads are very good as well and will be trying that set up next

A set of pagids will far outlive 2-3 sets of discs, as I use the engine to slow down too.
Carbon lorraine are pretty much the same as pagids but squeal like a b**ch.

  a thirsty one
i have some m1155's front and rear with other braking mods and im very happy with them.

try bb tuning they dont have them on the website but im fairly sure they have a few boxes lying about.

Vote for Pagids from me.

Still going strong - now I just need a new set of discs lol

Good from cold, never fade when hot. Little bit short on top end bite, I've found, but that might just be me needing a fluid refresh :)

Cool...

Right so where sells Pagid blue and DS2500's...

I new to Renault so no idea who the tuners are?

Got my Pagid Blues from K-tec. Become a CS member and enjoy a discount too. :D

The Pagid Blues are a ceramic compound, so there is not carbon in them.

The stuff on your wheels might be brake disc material, but, I would be suprised, as the Pagid blues are very easy on the discs.

I though you knew your stuff?

RS4-2 BLUE (Carbon Based)

Still our most popular material, (known as ‘Pagid Blue’), RS4-2 gives a good low temperature response. It is very stable, with superior modulation and feel. RS4-2 has a medium co-efficient of friction with good pad and disc life. Suitable for many applications especially gravel rally and wet tarmac, where a high level of control is required.

Friction Level Cold 0.40
At 100°C 0.42
At 300°C 0.43
Max at 0.46 @ 550°C
Constant working temperature 350 – 600°C
Max temperature for short period only 650°C

RS4-2-1 BLACK (Carbon Based) (Sport Pad)

A very stable material with low disc wear. It has a wide operating range with good low temperature performance and low brake noise. Fitted as original equipment on many high performance road vehicles, this is the best all round pad for road and light track day use.
Also available in a small range of Sport Type Pads (Dark Blue Coating)

Friction Level Cold 0.36
At 100°C 0.38
At 300°C 0.42
Max at 0.45 @ 500°C
Constant working temperature 300 – 500°C
Max temperature for short period only 550°C

RS4-4 ORANGE (Carbon Based)

This material has a slightly higher average friction level than RS4-2. It is better for high temperature applications than RS4-2 and has a very stable torque pattern during the stop. Suitable for rear axle use on Touring Car applications and very popular in Porsche and BMW club racing circles.

Friction Level Cold 0.39
At 100°C 0.40
At 300°C 0.43
Max at 0.49 @ 600°C
Constant working temperature 350 – 650°C
Max temperature for short period only 700°C

RS-14 BLACK (Ceramic Based)

A high friction, high temperature material with enviable pad life at this level of friction. Very kind to discs, easily modulated, and resistant to wheel lock in extreme use. Suitable for Touring Car, WRC, GT and other forms of medium weight single seater race cars that have good levels of grip.

Friction Level Cold 0.44
At 100°C 0.47
At 300°C 0.49
Max at 0.54 @ 600°C
Constant working temperature 400 – 700°C
Max temperature for short period only 800°C

RS-15 GREY (Ceramic Based)

A development of RS-14 which combines a 20% higher friction level with an improved initial bite. RS-15 has good life and exceptional release characteristics, combined with good cold operating properties. It is also very easily bedded in comparison to its competitors. Suitable for Touring car, GT and other applications requiring very high levels of friction and high temperature stability.

Friction Level Cold 0.50
At 100°C 0.54
At 300°C 0.57
Max at 0.62 @ 600°C
Constant working temperature 400°C– 800°C
Max temperature for short period only 900°C

RS-19/RS-29 YELLOW (Ceramic Based)

These materials provide very good performance at all temperatures with immediate brake response. Very stable pad on ceramic base, with excellent fade resistance and low disc wear. Suitable for endurance racing, or applications where exceptional life is required. RS29 has similar levels of performance but has improvements in bite and better pedal feel at higher temperatures, along with slight improvements in life under extreme conditions.
Multiple 24 hour race winner at Le-Mans, Daytona, Spa, etc, etc.

Friction Level Cold 0.40
At 100°C 0.43
At 300°C 0.47
Max at 0.49 @ 550°C
Constant working temperature 400 – 700°C
Max temperature for short period only 750°C

I'l be replacing my current pads next year for a set of Carbon lorraines after watching the Youtube vid where some bint slows a guy down because they were sparking lol

Find the Ferodos from Renault a bit shitty TBH, Braided lines will be on for sure too :)

I thought both the RS4-2 and the 19/29 were both full ceramic - obviously I stand corrected, it must carbon/ceramic - I am surprised.

The Blues don't produce a lot of dust in my experience - so why you would need to paint your wheels I don't know. I have used them for about 4 years on several cars and never really had brake dust issues - the only problems I have had a disc material problems - where the disc material sticks to the wheel.

I would always go for performance rather than sparks Rich.

I didn't paint my wheels so they didn't show up brake/disc remnants. lol That would be silly. My wheels are black cos gloss black cup alloys on an RB look mint and don't show up as much crap as my WHITE turinis.

I merely stated that I leave the pads on cos the crap produced from breaking doesnt show up as much on black wheels compared to white which is a fact. :D

I want some of these :p

you can't even get the blues to wear out paul let alone fade - you wouldn't even get these hot enough to pull you up. ;-)

LMAO

Same experience as most for me...

DS2500 - good but no cigar.
Pagid Blue - last FOREVER almost (last set I ran for 30k miles!), need decent pedal presure to get the best from them.
PF97 - great fun scaring the hell out of other road users from the sparks, instant bite but wore out quite quickly.
Carbone Lorraines - feel like PF97s to me only without the sparks/dust, light pedal pressure needed, and very very NOISY.

When the CLs have gone, for me it'll either be another set of CLs...but I do hanker after another set of Pagids.

Should try some Mintex F4. put them on the GDI demo car for recent track day and OMG!!!! Utterly gobsmacked at the stopping power with these fitted to wilwoods with Brembo HC discs

What discs did you use with each of those Mark? :)

Carbon Lorraine for me - every trackday I do I'm constantly gobsmacked at the constant excellent pedal feel & braking performance I have - cant beat em IMO!
