Front hub removal. What to do with driveshaft?

Planning on having a go at replacing the front n/s wheel bearing on my dci tomorrow, and since I don't have a press I was going to take the whole hub assembly off and down to my local garage and get them to press out the old bearing and put the new one in.

My only problem is when I was changing shocks a few weeks back, I noticed the driveshaft never seem to want to stay in the gearbox on these cars! Is it just a case of tying the shaft up to hold it in or can I let it come out without pi**ing gearbox oil everywhere?

Any help here is greatly appreciated! :)

Be carefully with the passenger side as you can pull the shaft out of the box. Just tie up the shaft after removing from the hub.

Cable tie it to anything you can. It will probably sit fine on the subframe anyway. You just dont want it slipping out.
