My bro got 6" no problem!
Hmmm really ????? Lucky him ;) It will go but a bit of a squeeze means cutting out etc which you dont want to do

they do go in, but quality of speakers wont be much, the magnets would be pretty small to fit

but yes, it is possible, but not without mdf ;)

Lucky him, but your question was 6.5" without cutting mdf etc, the answer to which remains no.

Hmm, thanks for all the help. My bro had his installed at a professional ICE installer, they are 6.5" and dont seem to have any MDF. But at least it seems possible, and for a much better sound, it must be done!

The only way of doing it without mdf is to remove the speaker reccess behind the door card (which would mean that the speakers will prob foul on the window) or to get these slimline speakers that some companies now offer.

Does your grille still fit over the top? What have you actually screwed the screws into? Cant tell from that pic :S

Simply not the case mate , there are many 5.25 that will waste 6.5 in the quality stakes , size is not as important as quality i.e. good speakers, amp and stereo all play a part on the way
