Frontend Respray

Going to get the frontend resprayed as not happy with all the stone chips.

I've had a quote of £500 for bonnet, bumper, wings, mirrors and blend into doors. Had work done by the guy before and was happy with the results. Does this sound like a good price?

Anyone else able to recommend a resprayer in Hampshire/Berkshire area?

Here's what the car looks like at moment :dapprove:

If you know the work he does is good and you are happy to pay that then just take it there. You can try and save cash but then you'll never know how it's going to turn out. Not worth the risk IMO.

Mine is getting the same treatment soon, wings bonnet and bumper. Just to rub it in, it won't cost me anything! :rasp:

Being happy is the main thing. I've always used a local garage who are spot on (have the local BMW contract) so not tinpot. Now i wanted some work done on my cup, thought i'd try another place which i've worked at (sparkie) which seemed good. Picked it up last week, gutted tbh, its a good shade or two lighter :(. Now i have the mither of getting some kind of refund, and taking it to my original garage to get a good finish. Arse.

I'm in the same position, need some paint on my bonnet, bumper and wings but i'm worried that the new paint will stick out like a sore thumb...

Could you not just have the bumper and bonnet resprayed? is there much dammage on the wings and mirrors?

My car looks excactly the same because of airfield/autodrome trackdays :(

Is there damage at the back of the wings?

Shouldnb't have to blend into doors but it sounds like a solid place and he's doing the job very right which is nice to see.

A good bodyshop is priceless imo so £500 is a bargain.

It'll happen again tho.

Try and mention that you want a bare metal respray on the bonnet to help against stone chips in the future.

I was looking at that website last night. I'll get a quote from them now then cheers.

You'll be so pissed off when you get stone chips on the new paint! I wouldn't get it done.

Paintwork is fucked so needs doing, might get protective film as well.

There's stone chips on the wing mirrors, front edge of door, and a-pillars.

Wings have scratches so he's going to work those out then respray. He said he'd take bonnet and bumper back to primer I think.

  Weeman sucks ****
find a detailer and do a stone chip repair for a lot less money. some of the guides about you could do it yourself with the time.

I'd recommend AutoCosmetix in Guildford - they have done some superb work on both my VXT and S2000, but may be outside your catchment?
