Fuel light on......Quater tank left..Wtf

Going work this morning and my fuel light just came on but i still had a quater of a tank in......got to work turned the ignition off and on stil the same and have just drove home and its still on.

Ive checked the trip computer and all it dispays is - - - - -

What could the problem be ....do you think its the fuel pump or somthing?

fill it up see what happens its not the pump else you wouldnt be geting any fuel through, ie your car wouldnt start, possibly be a sensor that broken or maybe just fallen out of place

they do that sometimes, my V6 does it, my 1.2 does it, the cup does it

its a renault is the answer (filling the tank up fully normally resets it)

ahh ok thanks mate....

Also whats the trick where you can test all the dash lights and needles....is it hold the trip computer switch and turn on the ignition?

yep, then it'll go "ping, ping, ping, ping, ping, ping, ping" and the clocks will go mental
