Fuel Pressure Regulator

Hi all,
Having seen lots of engine bays of various 172/182's I have noticed that few seem to have the original fuel pressure regulator in place. Am I missing a trick here or could someone elaborate.

I have a Ph1 172 track only car. Many thanks in advance...

The reg got moved, maybe in Ph2 or with the 182?
but it's at the pump end now IIRC along with a tiny little filter that has a 200k service life???

nope, late phase 1 it went to the pump.
