fuel problem?

ok so i recently posted a thread reguarding my car being slow and sluggish, recently i have noticed another problem, my car fuel guage is droping rapidly fast, compared to my GF's whos is normal. it seems my car is using double the fuel its meant to for a 1.2
like i said in a previouse post tho, acceleration is rather slow compared to my GF car, shes got the same car as me,

what could be the problem?

mine had this problem so just tried that redex fuel injector clearner stuff and use optimax and now get more mpg than standard fuel

i was thinking the spark plugs could do with a change, as im on 33k and they havnt been changed once

as well as air filter ect !

get a haynes manual n service it properly

yeah i think im gna do that,

i rang the garage i bought it from, and it still coverd under warrenty, so ill see wht i can get out of them and the rest ill do myself including redex, they said they serviced it when i bought it... but 1000 miles on from buying it, urmm plugs need doing, no oil change has been done recently, its lacking a new clean air filter...

filters and plugs DO NOT need to be done yearly or 10-12k miles.

plugs can last up to 70k miles or even more.

MAnufacture's advise yearly or every 12k witch ever comes first you service the car!
engine service includes spark plugs air filter oil ect

get ya manual out

According to edde's guide plugs are recopmmened to 72K by Renault although he recommends 50K.

I've got the same problem with my car, plugs were changed 1000 miles ago along with filters etc when it was serviced. What could the problem be?

depends what plugs you have platinum tip go for 70k or 3 years iirc

induction kit ya car cant suck through my mate had that problem argos 20 cone on 1.0 corsa lol

I am quoting the manual for a 1.2 clio (which the OP HAS!!!).

Service every 18000 miles or 2years includes filters, oil etc...
Spark plugs: 36000 miles.

I've got an induction kit on there, but it's been on for ages and only just started to have this problem. How do I check the level of my gearbox oil/fill it up?

You just top up the gearbox oil untill you can't get anymore in. There isnt a level to check, iirc. You can see it in the engine bay, and it has a clear/gray tube sticking up, i think.

Yep never leve them more than 36k some cars are still fine others need them by 36k quite despiratly.

It does depend though people often spend a fortune on posh stuff which is no better than normal stuff.
