Fuel rail guard



It's there to protect the rail in the event of a front end smash.

Strictly not needed if missing and you want to save a few quid buying one, but if fitted you may as well leave it unless you need to save the weight/ever look at your engine and think it's an eyesore.

I just feel like it's in the way every time you want to do something on the front of the engine you have to take the bloody thing off !

I might just take it off I don't think it really needs to be there if your going to have a front end crash the car will be written off anyway

Yea but significant damage to the fuel rail will carry a very high risk of fire.

You might not be able to get out quickly in a bad smash, you wanna burn to death?

For the couple of minutes it takes to remove I'd leave it on, from a safety perspective.

You don't want to leave the inlet manifold on then, that gets in the way every time you work on the ignition system.

Most cars have 'something in the way' when you need to work on them. Don't work on an LPG converted car, you'll cry with all of the extra bits in the way :LOL:.

i have taken mine off once in 4 years, and that was only to spray it, what do you keep doing to your car?

I just don't believe this offers protection in a front end smash, its cast alloy, itll shatter in a 10mph bump, I suspect its more to offer protection from the general bits and pieces that can get thrown up while driving, which you may not notice and continue driving with fuel leaking out.

Paint it the same as the intake and it looks tidy as. Keeps the bay looming clean. You'd save more weight just taking out a single seat belt than this.
