funny noise from light box in roof

there is a 'buzzing' noise coming from the light box on the roof, just where the vent fing is. i have taken the box off and the noise is coming from wot looks to be some sort of a motor.

any ideas wot it is behind there, and why its doing it?

im not sure only got it saturday, and the manual is all in foreign. is this a bad thing if it is?

Doesn't matter if it's an import. It's the climate Control senosr. Little motor, fan thing. Needs replacing. I've got used to mine being noisy. Do a search for more info

had the same problem with my 182, i foned renault gave thm my reg and chassis number and it came back as a parallel import, there is no difference between these and uk spec 1's apart from about 1k in price.
i went back 2 my dealership and they give me £500 cash and an extra yr warranty!! good job to coz they've spent about 2 grand repairin it Lol

Common prob with 172/182's i had my CC sensor replaced a while back too.

o rite well ive just brought it for 4k 52plate with 56k. have i been ripped off then? could this be why aircon doesnt work do you think?

^^^That price doesn't sound to bad.

iirc my aircon still worked when my CC sensor was knackered.

could be or it just may need chargin back up, does your blowers work for hot/cold air? price wise not to bad, my m8 just traded his 182 cup with 32k on and £4800 for it

Wouldn't like to say about it not working... Mine's always been noisy, and the CC works well. The price difference between an import and a non import for a 6 year old car now is tiny if any

thanks all for you quick replys by the way. glad i didnt get ripped off lol. all blowers and that work ok. according to the buyer it was charged up 2 months ago so 'should' work according to him.

I ripped my fan rotor out of the climate controll sensor. Ill stick it back if anything blows up.

Mine has always made a loud-ish buzzing noise and so has my mates in his 172. I went to,two different renault garages and got the same answer "it's normal,they do make a noise so theres nothing to worry about". Heaters,blowers etc.. work ok in both cars

just dismantled mine, cleaned and put back in. It's exactly the same!!! 20 minutes I'll never get back. Damn this thread.

OR buy a replacement, think they can be had for under a tenner.

The noise is actually the motor vibrating on the plastics. If you can put some rubber tubing or something around where the motor/fan touches the plastics, you should seriously reduce an vibration noises.

most of the time the new ones are buzzing within a week anyway so is it worth it. mine tends to not go away but get quieter when i push on the light box to absorb some of the vibration so i was thinking maybe a bit of sound deadning might help it.
