Clio 172 phase 1 dash

Hi all, just starting to do some light refurbing of my phase 1 172

The top dash is blue but it’s very sticky and the paint is coming off when you touch it.

Any ideas or suggestions how best to clean it up? I am thinking removing the dash / degreasing it and then a respray. As the paint is literally coming off anyway so any cleaning products will do the same

Thanks

Pete

Saw your post on fb earlier. Don’t know if degreasing it will work think @Matt Cup tried it on his but it made it worse?

On a side note the dash top itself may be incorrect. I don’t think 172s are meant to have the storage cut out on the passenger side only the non sport Clios. May be worth asking if anybody has one, Danny Wragg on fb breaks a lot of ph1s.

Yep, was me. I should have stuck to elbow grease spray which was working fine albeit slowly, but got fed up and used a solvent based glue remover which took everything away back to plastic 😖

I bought a new dash top after that.
