Future insurance question.

I will be 18 in june and will hopefully have my first years no claims in september. I am looking at getting something different when I get my no claims. Do you think that insurance on any of the following would be remotely realistic (if possible!)

1. Valver
2. R5 GTT
3. 205 GTI

If anyone has experience of insuring any of these at 18 then please let me know how much it cost(s) etc.

In your own name - hell even in your parents name still most probably no.

Would be in my own name. I would never go in my parents name as I work on the theory that if I can't afford it then I shouldn't be driving it! Do you think it would be a straight 'no' from most insurance companies. I know it would be a hefty premium, probably £1800+?

Why not just try some online companies, put your details in as if you are 18 now, and see what it comes back with.

But do bare in mind, sometimes it comes back and says no, I'm 24 and some cars insurance companies will just deny me.

A DC5 is an import though

I struggled to find someone to insure my 309 GTi many moons ago (1998) at 19, I am sure you will get insured on them all for a price.

is it worth paying that much money? sure id like a valver but i cant justify paying 2k insurance. if you can afford it do it but personly id save up and get something even nicer next year

^^ i agree - save your money for soemthing nicer. Plus it would be a real challeneg actually findign someone to insure you at 18

Just been doing some online quotes as if I were 18 and had a years no claims and the results were:

Valver = £1432 TPFT with admiral
R5 GTT = £2035 TPFT
205 1.9 GTI = £1455 TPFT with admiral
and my renewal quote for my current car would be £522 with norich union.

Interesting results I think!

Im 18, 1 years ncb and own a clio 1.8 16v (with mods)

Its 977.50 fully comp in my own name with bell insurance.

Yeah bell do give good quotes, got my cup for £430 FC with them. Watch them though cause they tried telling me i had non standard alloys on mine!

I wont have a problem tho cos mine are not standard and are on the policy.
