Gaming pc setup help

I'm in need of a new pc badly (this one isn't even 1ghz) but want to get back into gaming. I'm thinking of building my own pc, but have no idea of what's good to buy. Can anyone help me? Either list good parts for me to get, or a good premade tower I can buy?

If you're keeping your original monitor and peripherals then £700 will get you a very nice gaming PC.

£170 - 8800GT
£170 - Q6600
£70 - 7200.11 500GB HD
£70 - Decent PSU
£100 - P35 motherboard
£50/80 - Case
£25 - Decent CPU cooler
£50 - 2gig PC26400

That's a rough price breakdown for a very capable gaming machine. I would go into specifics but you'll get 15 different replies after mine all with differing opinions.

Do you know of any sites I can take a look at that are reliable and honest with their descriptions? Just so I can then pick out things and show up for opinions as I'm completely clueless
