Gas struts on bonnet

has anyone put ne of these on they're bonnet instead on the usual bonnet stay?
i ve just done it on my race car just wonered if any one else had done it and how they didi it?

been looked at before,the wings would just be ripped off due to it being plastic

ive welded the nobbles to the chassis

what gas struts are you thinking of using?i have a set of 106 ones sitting in my room incase i/someone else was ever to find out how to do it

ive used one from a mk 1 clio boot lid, only using one holds the bonnet up fine and will aid in the lifting off it if you used two it will prob lift the bonnet for you.

LeeP86 whered you get your "nobbles" from,same car as the strut?and howd you fit em?welded?

the only problem with that mite be if you do it electricly to release the catch there is always the chance of it failing and then a bit of a smash but then again we all know that the mechanical ones do this too

my nobbles lol (sounds naughty) they were from the same car i got the strut off but i cld of used some of any car cos once id gt them off i made my own bracket for the lower nobble out of some shelving lol

I thought the clio bonnets came open on there own anyway:rasp:
