But surely when it hits the limiter at 7250rpm thats a bit of a hinderance ? I assume it has a trip comp and everything ?

Just curious never seen it before.

If you look carefully, that's where the last mark on the dial is, 7250rpm.

Why would it be a hinderance?

No theres no trip computer on a import, but then again you dont buy a 172 to no your MPG ;)

Well for one the trip comp is on the standard 172 spec even the cup has one and every 172 i've seen including imports have had the normal rs dialset so I was just curious as to why this one was different.

And the last mark may be 7250rpm but its practically off the gauge and they look crap compared to the normal 172 dials, the red needles and the 8k tacho look so much better and the speedo isn't the rs one. The white dials just remind me of a poverty spec courtesy car.

May not be a problem in your eyes but if i'd annoy the hell out of me, would put me off buying it unless it was silly cheap.

mines a uk spec inport and i got trip computer thought it was standard on all 172s, its nice to know i can archieve 40mpg on a steady drive back from bridlington , unlike way there and it was down to 38 :)

You would put off buying a car because it didn't have 8k on the dials!?! It's like not buying a car because it hasn't got a light in the glovebox :S

White needles look far classier!

The red ones (like in mine) just don't look as nice.

Its the lack of the trip comp and the fact that it isn't the right dialset not because it doesn't have and 8k tacho its the fact that its the wrong dialset, when you get in a rs you expect to see the proper dialset. I'd smell a rat (even if there isn't one) if I got in one and saw that, why buy that one when I can get another which is all present and correct.
If somethings supposed to have a feature which is doesn't they i'd wonder why ?

The dial colour is down to personal opinion as the white dials look cheap and naff imo.

u sure its not faulty :)

No had it check by reno and theres no wires from the stork to the screen plus the screen is a different one to those with a trip computer.

If you do it right, you can get a REAL shine off it.

View attachment 10894Think the dark colours shine up and reflect more, sayin that though the racing blue clios always look shiney.
what wax(polish) do you use? i've tried auto glym super resin and i've also got a colour magic one. Still no shine.:dapprove:
