Gear Knobs!!

I changed it on my Clio 3 today. I had to saw it off!! I took people advice of heating it and it did nothing so I hacksawed it off. Looks much better now.

GUy

Got mine off without one (well Rich (RB_172) did!). Wasnt that easy though! Had to get the rubber bit off first, then used grippy things to pull of the plastic underneath.

Mine looks wicked now too!

tbh at the end of the day eihter ripping it off or cutting it off u aint gonna be putting it back on even if u return the car to standard to sell, its one of those very discrete mods that even in a totally standard car, if it dont flash or sommet stupid look really good.

you sawed it off!!! wtf. you are supposed to get a wrench and twist it till you hear a cracking soundare you not? reno said that you cannot change the gear knob and have to replace the entire stick.

i took my gear knob off yesterday and swopped it with a sparco 1, I had to get the hacksaw out!! it looks looooooads better now the new one is on.

Thats cus reno want you to buy the whole thing off them, and it will prolly cost6 you the best part of £100, these dealers are cleaver b******s, but they didnt count on the might of the hacksaw.

its also possible to get it off using a device called a baby boa...its a tool for grannies to get the tops off glass jars without shattering every bone in their arms and then calling the NHS to fix it :D its like a rubber strap and a plastic handle...u wrap the strap around the objext (the gearknob in this case) and then put the strap between two plastic lugs and twist...the extra leaverage allows u to twist it off without damaging it...mines mint and for sale if anyone wants it...brand new 2003 dynamique
