gear ratio’s - problems with re/cond box

before my gearbox went i could hit about 70 in 2nd gear, ive had the box overhauled completely so its more or less new and the guy that did it said all ratios were the same



however, ive had the car back for a few days and i can now only get to 65 in 2nd gear

do the new components just need time to settle in or has he f**ked up my ratios?

Is your car chiped?

As mine will only do around 60 in second.

i can only get 60 in 2nd,not chipped tho.I can get 120 out of 4th tho!

mines not chiped either but i can only get around 115 out of 4th.

mine hits 63 in second, 90 in third and 118 in 4th that a reconditioned box but now i need a new one

its odd aint it

but thing is the valver is an old car now and most have had new gearboxs along there time

and ratios might be slighly diffrent

chris sxiboy was told he got the same ratios but who knows?

Mines on the original box and I can get 60 in 2nd no problem, not even going close to the red line!

got 140 out of it last nite, good considering its on 17s

The new components dont need running.Ive had it at work before where the aftermarket part is a superseded part and the ratio has been very slightly different but its the only part that was avaliable.

i was told that all ratios were exactly the same tho, i had to wait an extra week for him to order the right parts in!!
