Put my car in the air yesterday after work to do an oil and filter change to find my selector seal had got really bad, oil everywhere!
After a bit of thinking I decided to set upon it... Didn't really want to strip the box yet as if I do that I'll be putting an LSD in and can't afford that yet because of just putting together a turbo kit to fit in Jan.....
So.... Out came the die grinder!!!
Firstly I tickled off the weld that attaches the selector arm to the selector shaft..
Got a new seal from up the stores and fitted easy!
Now I had to figure out how to re attach the selector arm without welding and melting the new seal. Here's what I came up with...
Strengthened the arm with a piece of stainless that cups around, tig welded on, drilled bolt hole and tapped, machine 6mm slot. Reassemble
