gear selector worn?

had a look for an annoying rattle under car. looks like the gear selector bar thingy is properly loose. is this normal? if not, where can i buy replacement bushes or what can i do to fix?

*when i say me, i mean my mate! cba with gettin my hands dirty!

sweet. i was looking at your thread before yanoo. its my gear linkage, i just dont know much about mechanics so get my mate to do my repairs!

Could a worn selector be resonsible for a slight oil leak? or is this a ballache oil seal - gearbox out job?

No, a worn selector cannot be. Slight oil leak is a common problem with JB/JC gearboxes. Caused by wrong selector shaft seal. There are more ways to change this seal. It may be a gearbox out job but it may be simpler but not simple. :(

The bush (with bolt) is £5.50 + £4 p&p.
