Gearbox breathe tube ??

Just a quick question,

Is this just the breather for the Gearbox and should it be capped like this?

Just wondering if the cap should be off or if you can clean them out ?
I seem to have the usual gearbox slow leak which gets worse after a track day and just noticed today the breather even existed.
I thought it might be building up pressure during high rpm useage?

Any input much appreciated !!

They all leak out of the selector shaft at te bottom. Just a crap design.

thats a breather tube yes , mines got the cap on, so'a many others I've seen
